Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 10 June 2025 | Balanza, 302 Si Chan Road, Nai Mueang, Khon Kaen 40000, Thailand
These terms set out the basis on which Balanza provides watch care services to customers. By leaving a watch with us for servicing, engraving coordination, or gifting preparation, you accept these terms. If you have questions before bringing a piece in, please contact us at [email protected] or by phone at +66 53 218 6470.
1. About Balanza
Balanza is a watch care workshop operating at 302 Si Chan Road, Nai Mueang, Khon Kaen 40000, Thailand. We offer three services: Case Polishing & Refinishing, Corporate Gifting Preparation, and Quartz Care & Seal Check. These terms apply to all three services and to any communication or arrangement made in connection with them.
2. Service Agreement
A service agreement is formed when you leave a watch with us following a verbal or written agreement on the scope of work and the applicable starting price. No work begins without the customer's prior agreement.
If the inspection reveals anything that changes the scope or cost, we will contact you before continuing. Work proceeds only after you confirm the revised scope. You are not obligated to proceed, and we will return the watch to you in the same condition it arrived.
3. Pricing and Payment
Our published starting prices are:
- Case Polishing & Refinishing — from ฿3,500
- Corporate Gifting Preparation — from ฿9,100
- Quartz Care & Seal Check — from ฿12,250
Starting prices apply to standard cases and standard scope. Where additional complexity is identified during assessment — for example, a mixed finish requiring zone-by-zone treatment, a corroded crown, or a larger batch — an adjusted price will be discussed and agreed before work proceeds.
Payment is due at collection. We accept cash and major bank transfers. We do not hold completed work indefinitely; uncollected items held for more than 60 days may incur a storage charge, of which you will be notified in advance.
4. Turnaround and Collection
We provide an estimated completion range at drop-off. This is an estimate, not a commitment to a specific date. Circumstances such as parts availability or an unexpected finding during work may affect the timeline. We will contact you if the estimate changes significantly.
You or an authorised person must collect the watch during workshop hours: Monday–Friday 09:00–18:00, Saturday 09:00–14:00. Please bring the receipt given at drop-off. For corporate orders, collection arrangements are agreed separately with the procurement or HR contact.
5. Your Responsibilities
When leaving a watch with Balanza, you confirm that you are the owner or have the owner's authority to authorise the service. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information about the watch, including any known damage, previous repairs, or water-resistance concerns.
- Confirm engraving text in writing before work begins for any corporate or engraving service. We will not commence engraving work without written confirmation.
- Collect the watch within a reasonable period following notification that work is complete.
- Pay the agreed amount at collection.
6. Care and Liability
We take reasonable care of every watch left with us. Watches are stored in padded trays when not on the bench and held securely during the service period. We carry workshop insurance appropriate for the value of items typically handled.
We are not liable for pre-existing damage, undisclosed conditions, or findings that only become apparent during disassembly. If a pre-existing issue is identified during work, we will stop and contact you before proceeding.
We do not accept liability for damage arising from inaccurate information provided by the customer, or from instructions to use non-standard materials at the customer's request. Our liability in connection with any service is limited to the price paid for that service.
7. Case Polishing Specific Terms
Polishing removes a small amount of material from the case surface. This is inherent to the process. We use conservative abrasives and work to preserve case dimensions and edge definition. However, by agreeing to polishing work, you acknowledge that a small amount of surface material will be removed and that this is expected and intended.
We will not proceed with polishing on a watch where we judge the existing case metal too thin to support further work safely. We will advise you of this assessment at or after the initial inspection.
8. Quartz Care Specific Terms
Quartz Care & Seal Check includes cell replacement, gasket inspection and replacement where required, and a water-resistance pressure test following case reassembly. The pressure test result is shared with the customer.
We use quality replacement cells and gaskets appropriate to the watch. We do not source or use manufacturer-original parts unless specifically arranged and agreed in advance. Where the case-back or crown thread is found to be damaged on inspection, we will notify you and discuss options before proceeding.
9. Corporate Gifting Specific Terms
Corporate Gifting Preparation covers engraving coordination, presentation setup, and pre-delivery condition checks. Engraving is coordinated with an external engraver; Balanza is responsible for text confirmation, handover, and quality check on return.
Engraving text is confirmed in writing before any work is instructed to the engraver. Once engraving is completed, changes cannot be made to that piece. The customer accepts responsibility for the accuracy of all text submitted in writing.
For batch orders, we suggest a minimum lead time of two weeks before the required delivery date. We cannot accept responsibility for delays caused by the customer's failure to provide timely text confirmation or to arrange collection within the agreed window.
10. Cancellation
You may cancel a service before work has begun at no charge. If work has already begun, you are responsible for the cost of work completed to that point, which we will confirm with you before collection.
Where engraving has already been carried out, that portion of the cost cannot be reversed.
11. Disputes
If you have a concern about the work carried out, please contact us at [email protected] or speak to us directly at the workshop. We aim to address concerns promptly and fairly. These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will be published at https://balanza.world/terms-conditions.html. Changes do not affect services already agreed before the updated terms are published.
